Good Thing Now: Kongō Gumi
In business for 15 centuries . . .

To sustain longevity, you have to evolve.
At a time when we have a hard time remembering more than a few months ago and have an equally short-sighted view of the future, the people of Japan have traditions older that most of the oldest trees on the planet. That's an impressively long time.
The company Kongō Gumi has been in the business of building and restoring Japanese temples for nearly 1450 years. It was founded in 578. Widening the lens further we learn that Kongō Gumi isn't really an anomaly in Japan. Over half of all the companies in the world over 100 years old are Japanese.
In moments like this where times feel almost irredeemably chaotic, this is a reminder that humans DO have the capacity to nurture and the flexibility to sustain community and relationships over long stretches of time.
I hope your week is filled community and time for your own legacy building.
Get out there and be the YOUest!

PS: As the world continues to feel chaotic, I'm co-hosting a supportive, unstructured space that's the perfect mid-week drop-in to help us Embrace the Chaos and connect with like-minded souls. Join us each Wednesday at Noon EST. Paying attention to the Sun transit and learning more about how it impacts our daily life is also helping me feel more grounded and broadening my perspective.
