Love Note 1.12.24

Though you don't hear much about it, there's tons of evidence that a gaping hole in our wellness is our connection to our innate creativity.

This disconnection can show up as dis-ease, loneliness, addiction, depression—all sorts of ways.

When we don't have an embodied internal connection, it's nearly impossible to trust ourselves to truly connect with others. Yet we are a communal species that requires us to connect others. You can see the dilemma.

Turns out one of the easiest ways to rewire internal connection is to use your hands in a focused, creative task. Doodling. Cooking. Gardening. Chopping wood. You pick a thing that simultaneously uses your hands and brain and it will start the rewiring process.

Your experiment for the day: Sometimes we don't even know what inspires us. Keep a quick list of everything that catches your attention today. Where your attention goes energy flows.

It is an excellent stretch to make time to use your hands to make something. Anything. Draw. Make a nice dinner. Plant a plant. It's all the same to your brain/nervous system.
