We hear it incessantly—nobody's perfect.

On the surface it is true. We all make mistakes, hurt others, hurt ourselves. Our behaviors ARE imperfect.

But underneath our imperfect behaviors is a perfection that we forget to acknowledge.

This is what we see when we look at newborns. Perfection. And then we very quickly get about the business of forgetting that and focusing on the behaviors instead of the form.

Your experiment for the day: When someone you love makes a mistake today, picture them as their newborn selves and remind yourself that they are actually perfectly imperfect.
