We are often the recipients of kindnesses from others.

Really, our system is built on it. We don't stop to think about how much of our daily lives would be impossible without them.

Just getting a cup of coffee in the morning is actually a long string of people doing work on your behalf--from the laborers in the mountains to the cashier at the counter in front of you.

We're unable to thank them all directly. But the beautiful thing about gratitude is that it works in all directions.

We can use the gratitude we feel to gift others with some kindness.

Your experiment for the day: As you're making or buying your morning cuppa something, really think through all the people who had a hand in making that a possibility for you.
