Love Note 3.26.24 💚

Western culture is very much a power-over structure.

We like to talk about shared power, but peeking even just a bit below the surface of these systems, it's clear that's just a story.

Given that we live in this paradigm, it can be difficult for us to understand that true authority comes from within.

When we are connected to ourselves we are able to trust our own inner authority. This translates out into the world as sovereignty—the ability to govern ourselves.

Part of what makes this moment in time so stressful is that humanity is shifting from power-over to power within.

Current rulers don't want to release control and most of humanity is not yet ready to take on the task of self-governing. So we're existing in this uncomfortable liminal space.

Learning to serve requires us all to reconnect to our own inner Authority. This is the first step to becoming the YOUest.

Your experiment for the day: Notice all the places where you see power-over dynamics happening. Notice too if these behaviors are sold as some form of shared power. Paying attention to places we've become comfortable giving away our power can be instructive.
